Regarding translations:
I always thought everyone who knew about this vox came from LJ and would know about my rules/policies regarding my translations, but just in case you came across this from somewhere else:
Translator's notes:
1. Standard disclaimer: For ALL
translations posted in my vox, please be aware that these are not
necessarily 100%. I am not Japanese, just a poor grad student who took
the equivalent of four years of college Japanese. However,
translations for STORMY are spot-checked, so those should be in good
shape.
2. Please ask first and credit if any of the following are
used for subs. The few translations from written sources are NOT to be
used for scanlations. Also, please link back to the original entry,
i.e. DO NOT TAKE TRANSLATIONS OUT OF MY VOX. Also, if you use these translations, DO NOT UPLOAD ONTO STREAMING SITES PERIOD (cuts or no).
3. No requesting, period. I only translate clips where I feel I have a good grasp of what's going on and only when I have time to do so.
Compilation of all the translations I've ever done along with the links for the raw and subbed versions (if available) can be found at my LJ.
Regarding neighbors:
Feel free to add me if you like, but fyi, I play on LJ far more than here. Mostly, I x-post translations to vox while LJ contains a mix of trans, fangirling posts and other stuff.
Finally! After nearly nine (?!) months, my little 'tribute' to Mago Mago Arashi--Episode 50 with the foreign grandparents and Aiba's awesome Engrish. XDDD It's one of the few eps. 1)
Even though they're obvious, the English phrases were put in italics,
so everyone can tell I didn't mistakenly copy down what they said
twice. ^^;;;

I make no promises, but I'll try to push out the few half-finished
projects I've got sitting around before leaving for Japan--gotta
practice!! >.<
Narrator: Where could today's grandkids be?
Ohno: Here.
Aiba: Here we are! Hello. Good morning, Leader.
Ohno: Ah, I got it.
N: The grandkids this time are Aiba-kun and Ohno-kun! The Grandpa and Grandma the two meet turn out to be...?
[[writing: A Grandkid First! Foreigner husband and wife!!]]
Ohno: Eh! A foreigner!?
Aiba: It's a first huh! So, the preparations for the move...
N: For the Grandpa and Grandma about to leave Japan, can they pull off lending an international hand!?
Aiba: Yeah, yeah.
Ohno: Don't say 'Yeah, yeah' so much!!
Grandpa: We got married 14 months ago.
Narrator: It seems Grandpa and Grandma are lovey-dovey newlyweds!
[[writing: The reason behind their lovey-dovey is?]]
Grandma: I am sad also...
Narrator:
What is the big surprise the two grandkids have planned for Grandma!?
The place the two have arrived at is Naganoken's Nakanoshi, one of the
few producing areas of Japan for apples and cherries.
Ohno (reading): Good afternoon.
Aiba: Good afternoon.
Ohno (reading): I have parents living in Nagano.
Aiba: Yes. I see.
Ohno (reading): They are about to move...
Narrator: The favor this time is helping Grandpa and Grandma out with the moving!
Aiba: Have you ever moved before?
Ohno: I have.
Aiba: How tough is it? Like how many of boxes...
Ohno: Boxes... today I'll go with Grandma.
Aiba: Eh? For that, isn't it better to go and then decide? I'll be with Grandma. Definitely Grandma!
Ohno: I haven't had a turn with a grandma yet!
Narrator:
They want to see their grandkids but can't... there's no one to follow
in the family business and the work is tough... Arashi goes to visits
upon those grandpas and grandmas! Arashi's Grandkids for a Day!
Aiba: I'll go with Grandma. You're with Grandpa, ok?
Ohno: Fine. I'll work hard.
Aiba: Right, try your best! After all, you have experience with moving.
Ohno: Moving is something everyone does together!
Aiba: Well, that's true.
Ohno: That's a pretty awesome house.
Aiba: It's pretty, huh. Pretty. I wonder if they're really waiting...
[[writing: Huh!?]]
Ohno: Absent!? Does this mean they've already moved!?
Aiba: What did we come for then!!
[[writing: And then!]]
Grandpa: Hello.
Ohno: Hello.
Aiba: Hello.
Grandma: Hello.
Aiba: Huh? Did we get it wrong?
Ohno: What?
Aiba: Um, this is...
Ohno: Moving!?
Aiba: Moving!?
Grandpa: That's right. Today, this evening, we go to Tokyo.
Aiba: This evening? To Tokyo? Tokyo?
Grandpa: Next week, to Canada.
Aiba: Ca-, Canada? Oh, Canada!
Ohno: Canada? You're moving to Canada?
Grandpa: Right.
Aiba: So that's how it is. Eh!
Ohno: Eh! A foreigner!?
Aiba: It's a first huh!
Ohno: It's a first.
Grandpa: Ah, I see.
Aiba: Do you speak Japanese?
Grandpa: Yes, I speak Japanese.
Grandma: Do you speak English?
Aiba: Yeah!
Grandpa: That's good.
Ohno: NO! NO! No, no.
Narrator:
Grandpa, Siri Arthur-san, 82 years old and Grandma, Carolyn-san, 74
years old. The first foreigner husband and wife for the grandkids! In
Showa 25, Grandpa headed to Japan for a missionary, but after 56 years,
today, he departs from Japan.
Grandpa: We're in the middle of packing right now.
Aiba: Together. Together.
Grandpa: Ah, really? Together?
Aiba: Eh?
Grandpa: Well then.
Aiba: Well, well.
Ohno: Let's go!
N: Well then, 'let's go' lend a hand!
Ohno: Whoa, awesome!
Aiba: How pretty!
Grandma: This is our church. This is our church.
Aiba: It's beautiful.
Grandma: Thank you.
Ohno: Amazing.
Aiba: Eh, what do you do here?
Grandpa: I minister and she plays the piano.
Aiba: Wow, piano?
Grandma: Piano, yes.
Aiba: I kinda want to hear it.
Ohno: Is that why you came here?
Grandma: Do you play the piano?
Aiba: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Grandpa: Ah, then please.
Aiba: No! No! No!
Ohno: Which is it? Don't say 'Yeah, yeah' so much!!
Narrator:
In the morning, when the two have left, the next missionaries will move
into the church. With only time for greetings before they fly off,
cleaning and moving is one and the same.
Ohno: You're in the middle of moving right!
Grandpa: Right, well, her job is teaching English.
[[writing: IGNORED!!]]
Narrator:
For the students in the neighborhood, Grandma teaches English. Here,
she has met many people and created many memories.
Aiba: Then, shall we move onto the preparations for the move?
Grandpa: With that, for us to do so, it's a bit troubling. We can't go, leaving the surroundings as dirty as they are. Right?
Aiba: That's right, you can't.
Grandpa: Can we ask for some help with cleaning?
Aiba: Okay.
Ohno: Okay.
Grandpa: Please treat me favorably.
Aiba: Yes, us as well.
Grandpa: Please help us. We appreciate it.
Ohno: Yes.
Aiba: Yes.
Narrator: Try your best! There's not much time left before they depart! Even so...
Grandpa: How about some coffee?
Aiba: We'll take some coffee too!
Narrator: Now, now, Aiba-kun!
Grandpa: Is this ok?
Aiba: Yes.
Grandma: Do you like sugar?
Aiba: No, no sugar.
Grandma: No? Milk? Ok, here you go.
Aiba: Ah, thank you very much. Thank you.
Grandma: This is Seattle's Best Coffee.
Aiba: Ah, the most popular in Seattle.
Grandma: Yes.
Grandpa: I was born in Seattle. She was born and raised in Los Angeles.
Aiba: Ah, Los Angeles.
Grandpa: Two and a half years ago, her husband, during a trip, suddenly went up to heaven.
Aiba: That was before you two starting going out?
Grandpa: Her former husband.
Grandma: My former husband.
Aiba: He passed away?
Grandma: Yes.
Narrator: Grandma's husband passed away two and half years ago...
Grandpa: For me, it was three and a half years ago, that she passed away... slowly, slowly.
Narrator:
Grandpa too, three and a half years ago, lost his wife. Then, a year
and a half ago, I went to a gathering where she played the piano.
After she finished, I went and sat near the piano. I heard this
message from God: [[She will have an important role to you.]] Last
year, January 22, we got married 14 months ago.
Aiba: Then you're newlyweds!
Grandpa: We're newlyweds!
Narrator: Four months after they met, the two got married in a "speed wedding." Even now, they're lovey-dovey newlyweds!
Grandpa: (With regards to the wedding), it was a big match!
Ohno: A big match?
Aiba: A big match?
Grandpa: Then, can we give you some work, is that ok? Please.
Aiba: Of course, same here.
Ohno: Please.
Grandpa: The windows outside are all dirty, it's embarrassing.
Aiba: Grandpa, when whispering, is it this side? Or this side? This side's better, right? This one, this one.
Grandpa: Ah, I see.
Ohno: It's look an okama-san.
Aiba: Right, right. You talk with Grandpa, I'll go shopping with Grandma.
Ohno: Got it.
Aiba: Let's go, Grandma!
Grandma: Okay.
Narrator: The preparations for the midday meal are left up to Aiba-kun and Grandma!
Aiba: Lunch.
Grandpa: Um, on your way, since it's old, very interesting, interesting, interesting!
Aiba: I got it, let's go, Grandma! Later!
Ohno: Then, Grandpa, you and I, the moving stuff...
Aiba: The preparations right?
Grandma: Let's go.
Aiba: Let's go shopping!
Grandma: Let's go shopping!
Aiba: Hey Grandma. When you moved to Japan, did you have soba?
Grandma: Soba?
Aiba: Let's make it together!
Grandma: Is that right? Do you know how to make it?
Aiba: I don't. It's fine, I know, I know, I know.
Narrator: Ohno-kun's off to clean the windows!
Ohno: I can't reach it.
Grandpa: Then, the ladder.
Ohno: What about the second-story windows?
Grandpa: Let's not worry about those. Oh, it's getting clean. Please do it precisely!
Ohno: Make it clean right?
Grandpa: If you don't, she won't be satisfied.
Ohno: You want to satisfy her right? All right!
Grandpa: Wait, wait, there's a little bit...
Ohno: Grandpa, unexpectedly, you do notice the little things...
Grandpa: She's strict you know! That's good, that's good enough!
Ohno: Good?
Grandpa: Good. She'll be satisfied.
[[writing: Big satisfaction]]
Aiba: Since we're doing soba...
Grandma: Right, the soba's inside.
Aiba: Ah, the soba's here! Right?
Grandma: This, this is it?
Aiba: Soba, well, this is also soba.
Store owner: Delicious soba? What about this one? You'll like it once you eat it.
Aiba: Eat it and like it?
Store owner: That's right.
Aiba: This one then.
Narrator: According to the advice of the store owner, Aiba-kun gets the soba. And then?
Store owner: An present, please take it and eat it.
Aiba: Eh, what is that?
Store owner: It's fine, it's fine.
Aiba: That's bad you know! Really? It's bad right? Grandma, he said, "Eat it."
Grandma: Whoa! All of this?
Aiba: All of it?
Grandma: Nagano's apples are the most delicious, right?
Store owner: Delicious. That's right, Nagano's apples are delicious. You're going home, right?
Grandma: Yes, returning home. Thank you very much.
Store owner: Same here.
Aiba: Thank you for all the service you've provided.
Store owner: No, it was nothing.
Narrator: Store owner, thank you very much.
Aiba: Awesome, right, Grandma!
Grandma: Oh yes.
Aiba: We sure got a lot!
Grandma: We did right!
Aiba: Lucky!
Grandma: Yes.
Grandpa: This time...
Ohno: This time?
Grandpa: The vacuum cleaner.
Ohno: Vacuum.
Grandpa: Vacuum all of it. Starting from over there. Really sorry ne.
Ohno: Ah! Is that it?
Grandpa: Ah, wait a minute, the cameraman hasn't come yet.
[[writing: Saved!!]]
Narrator:
Grandpa, good save Then, Ohno-kun, for the sake of the incoming
people, please do a good job cleaning! By the way, Grandpa is?
[[writing: The middle of resting!]]
Ohno: You're sitting?! Make it clean right?
Grandpa: Because you're my grandson, it's fine for me to sit and watch, right?
Ohno: It's fine, it's fine.
Grandpa: Right?
Ohno: Take it easy! Whatever instructions you give, I'll do.
Narrator:
Seeing his grandkid work with all his heart, Grandpa seems satisfied
too. After shopping's done, Grandma and Aiba-kun are?
Aiba: Grandma, around what age range are the students you teach English to?
Grandma: Second graders and fourth graders.
Aiba: Elementary school?
Grandma: Elementary school. Right, elementary school.
Aiba: Then, since you're moving today, you won't be able to meet them, that's lonely ne...
Grandma: That's right. Every time they come, it's always a lot of fun.
Aiba: It's lonely to say good-bye.
Grandma: It is...
Narrator: That's right. Today, Grandma departs from those children.
[[writing: Painful parting from her students...]]
Grandma: Grandpa too loves fruits.
Aiba: Loves?
Grandma: Here you go.
Aiba: We're back!
Grandpa: Welcome back, good work.
Aiba: We're back. Grandpa! Grandpa, look! This much!
Grandpa: OH! That much! Amazing!
Grandma: We received a lot.
Aiba: This and this too.
Grandpa: All of this?
Aiba: Here you go, Grandpa.
Ohno: You guys received quite a bit!
Aiba: Presents!
Grandpa: It's amazing, right? Please take a look. Nagano's apples are quite big! Everyone, let's make a good meal.
Aiba: Ah, you know with that, for lunch, this is the only thing we bought.
Ohno: Soba?!
Aiba: Is this ok? Moving soba. Right? Right? Moving soba.
Grandma: Yes.
Narrator: Aiba-kun, Grandma, we leave the delicious soba up to you!
Aiba: The water. As long as we put in lots of water, I think we're good.
Grandma: Okay.
Aiba: Okay. Oh!
Grandma: That's good enough, right?
Aiba: Nice bubble!
Grandma: Nice bubble!
Aiba: Nice bubble!
Grandma: Do you want to do it? Shall I do it? Do you want to do it? Shall I do it?
Aiba: I'll do it, I'll do it! Leave it to me! Believe!
Grandma: All right.
Aiba: Believe, believe!
Separately add them, that's how it's done. Chopsticks. Should we put
in all of it? Shall we put in all of it! Let's do it! Right?
Grandma: Okay.
Aiba:
What should we do? What should we do? I'm putting it all in! All of
it! After all, it's going to take some time, right? Okay, Grandma.
With this, add some water.
Grandma: You're good at that!
Aiba: Good?
Grandma: You've never done this?
Aiba: I've never done this before, but my dad's a cook! I'm father is a cook!
Grandma: Ah, your father... your father is...
Aiba: Right, right, a cook!
Grandma: Ah, I see.
Aiba: This is Grandma's, okay?
Grandpa: Thank you very much for making this amount for us.
Aiba: No, no, it was nothing.
Narrator: Aiba-kun's special, brimming with love, the mover's lunch! How is the taste?
Grandpa: We partake.
Aiba: We partake.
Grandma: How do you eat it?
Aiba: You take this and dip it. After dipping it, *slurps!*
Grandma: Oh! Do you have to make that noise? Do you have to make that noise?
Grandpa: Of course. I've eaten this many times.
Aiba: It looks difficult for you. Is it hard? If so, you can just go from this much, with this!
[[writing: Bitter smile]]
Ohno: It's good!
Aiba: Good!
Grandma: It's delicious. You are a good cook.
Aiba: Good cook.
Grandma: You are a good cook. Because this is delicious!
Aiba: Oh! Really?
Ohno: That's good.
Aiba: My dad's a cook!
Narrator: Well, with lunch over, it's time for that corner!
Ohno: The grandkids want to hear that story!
Aiba: From the time Grandpa and Grandma were young!
Ohno/Aiba: Lovey-dovey talk!
Narrator:
The grandkids ask thoroughly after Grandpa's and Grandma's love story!
Today, they're still lovey-dovey newlyweds. For that sweet story,
please ask plenty!
Ohno: From the beginning, you didn't really go out, right? Straight to it. Why is that?
Grandpa: At that perfect moment, I embraced and kissed her.
Aiba: What's up with that?
Grandpa: That's how it was.
Aiba: Really?
Ohno: From the middle of the morning?
Aiba: You kissed from morning? I kinda want to see that kiss. Grandpa, show us.
[[writing: IGNORED!!]]
Ohno: He evaded that one really well!
Narrator: Please show us the real one! Lovey-dovey kiss collection!
Aiba: Well then, just for bit, we're going to take a picture.
Ohno: Take a picture. Here we go, cheese! Okay. One more, one more!
Grandma: One more?
Aiba: One more. Kiss and stop. Like that!
Ohno: Okay, cheese! Amazing.
Aiba: Nice huh.
Grandpa: It's a bit embarrassing.
Grandma: Embarrassing.
Aiba: Really? To display that kind of emotion.
Narrator: But today, the two are about to depart on their journey. With that in mind, the grandkids...
Ohno: She seems sad.
Aiba: Yeah, she didn't stop when talking about her memories.
Ohno: Amazing.
Aiba: Amazing. What should we do? What do you want to give them?
Ohno: Grandma taught English conversations, right?
Aiba: Right, right. The students that learned from her are from around here.
Ohno: They know right?
Aiba: Then, since you're moving today, you won't be able to meet them, that's lonely huh...
Grandma: That's right. Every time they come, it's always a lot of fun.
Aiba: It's lonely to say good-bye.
Grandma: It is...
Ohno: I wonder if we can call on them (the students)?
Aiba: Shall we call on them?
Ohno: I don't know if we have the time though.
Aiba: But let's try it, calling on them with the time we have left!
Ohno: Right.
Aiba: Right.
Ohno: Grandma.
Aiba: Let's ask Grandpa, consult with him.
Ohno: If we can call on them...
Aiba: It's good right? Good.
Ohno: She'll be happy.
Aiba: Yeah. Definitely happy. Grandpa.
Grandma: Come in.
Aiba: Ah, please excuse us. Ah, wait a minute, Grandma.
Ohno: We're borrowing Grandpa.
Aiba: Can we call on her the children of her English class?
Grandpa: Can you call on them?
Ohno: Today, because they're parting, clearly Grandma's going to be sad, right?
Aiba: Sad, right?
Grandpa: Right, right. That's the truth of it.
Aiba: That's why, we'll (call on and) have those students here!
Grandpa: Oh, oh.
Aiba: We'll tell everyone to come here.
Ohno: We'll keep it a secret from Grandma since we want to make her happy!
Aiba: It's a secret, okay?
Grandpa: Okay, okay, got it.
Ohno: Secret talk!
Grandpa: I got it.
Aiba: Secret talk!
Ohno: We want to surprise Grandma.
Aiba: Surprise!
Grandpa: Shall we go call on them? Then, let's go!
Aiba: Well, I'll stay with Grandma.
Ohno: I'll go with Grandpa.
Aiba: You two go call on them.
Ohno: Okay.
Narrator: The three have started their move!
Ohno: Grandma, won't you be lonely today?
Grandma: I will.
Narrator: The grandkid's big surprise to Grandma... will the plan turn out well!?
Aiba: Then, since you're moving today, you won't be able to meet them, that's lonely huh...
Grandma: That's right. Every time they come, it's always a lot of fun.
Aiba: It's lonely to say good-bye.
Grandma: It is...
Narrator:
For the Grandma about to be parted from Japan, they've plan to call on
the children of her English conversation class! Will the plan turn out
well?
Aiba: Okay.
Grandma: Okay. Oh. I should give you a massage.
Aiba: Okay.
Grandma: Oh, that feels good.
Aiba: Good?
Grandma: That feels good.
Aiba: Really?
Grandma: Really.
Aiba: Is it too strong? Does it hurt?
Grandma: It's really good.
Aiba: Really good?
Grandma: Ah, it hurts there though.
Aiba: It hurts?
Grandma: It does, but it's necessary right?
Aiba: It's necessary since you have a knot.
Grandma: Please sing something.
Aiba: Sing something right? I see, like what I always do.
Grandma: I like music.
Aiba: Then, after this, let's have Grandma play the piano. Piano, after the massage is over.
Grandma: Okay.
Narrator: Please remember Aiba-kun's massage also. Ohno-kun and Grandpa are off to call on the English conversation students.
Grandpa: Good afternoon. We're always in your debt.
Ohno: Since Grandpa and Grandma are moving, we're planning to surprise Grandma by calling on her students. Is this ok?
Mother: That's fine. Tell them the way to Marina-chan's house.
Grandpa: Let's go.
Ohno: Please show us.
Narrator: To make Grandma happy, they're gathering the children one by one.
Ohno: We're having everyone gather to meet with Grandma, is that ok?
Girl: It's fine.
Ohno: Can you come now?
Grandpa: Thank you very much for coming.
Ohno: All right, let's go!
Narrator:
The big present of having the students meet up with Grandma! At her
grandkid's request, Grandma is playing the piano.
Aiba: Amazing! Very good!
Grandma: Thank you.
Aiba: Then, in return, shall I play a song?
Grandma: Please.
Aiba: Ready, here I go! Here I go!
[[writing: EH!?]]
Aiba: Fur Elise.
[[Writing: EH!!]]
Grandma: Here.
Aiba: I see, I see. Ah, I see, I see. From here? I was mistaken. All right, well, it was fun right, Grandma?
[[writing: The end...]]
Narrator: Ohno-kun and Grandpa have returned home, accompanied by the students.
Ohno: Grandma, we're back.
Grandma: Hello.
Aiba: Hello.
Ohno: For Grandma's sake, special guests have come!
Grandma: Is that so?
Aiba: What do you mean?
Ohno: Enter!
Grandma: I am sad also...
Ohno: Grandma, we're back.
Grandma: Hello.
Aiba: Hello.
Ohno: For Grandma's sake, special guests have come!
Grandma: Is that so?
Aiba: What do you mean?
Ohno: Enter!
Grandma: Oh! Kouki! Oh! My English students!
Aiba: Students.
Ohno: Everyone came to see Grandma off since you're about to leave.
Aiba: She's happy, right?
Grandma: Right, I'm happy.
[[writing: And then!]]
Aiba: What's that, a gift?
Girl: Please.
Grandma: Oh, thank you.
Aiba: Eh, what is it?
Grandma: Can I open it?
Girl: Yes.
Grandma (reading): Thank you very much for teaching us English. We are really sad...
Grandma:
I am sad also... (continues reading) But no matter what happens, I
definitely will never forget you. Thank you very much. It was very
well-written.
Kouki: Thank you very much. I want you to come again.
Grandma: Oh, thank you!
Girl: I enjoyed English class, thank you Mrs. Carolyn.
Narrator: With the English she taught them, the students do their best to convey their feelings.
Girl: Thank you very much.
Grandma: You're welcome.
Grandma: Everyone's English is very good!
Aiba: It's good, right?
Ohno: We also have a present, here!
Grandma: It's good.
Aiba: It's good, looks just like them.
Grandpa: You really got us down well.
Aiba: Then, take care, okay?
Grandma: Yes. Thank you for everything.
Aiba: No, no, same here. Thank you very much.
Grandma: Thank you very much.
Ohno: Please take care.
Grandma: Thank you for this as well.
Ohno: It's nothing.
Aiba: Be well.
Grandpa: Thank you for being my grandchild.
Aiba: Thank you, Grandpa. Bye bye.
Grandpa: See you again.
Aiba/Ohno: See you again.
Ohno: Thanks.
Aiba: Bye bye. I wish you happiness, bye bye! I'll be back.
Ohno: Bye bye.
Aiba: Ah, they've left huh.
Ohno: They're gone. It's a weird feeling.
Aiba: It's always us going bye bye. Eh? They've left.
Ohno: What should we do?
Aiba: Eh? Then, should we go as well?
Ohno: Should we go?
Aiba: Then, thank you very much.
Ohno: Thank you very much.
Aiba: But it was fun right?
Ohno: It was fun.
Grandpa: They were a huge help at such a busy time; Masaki and Satoshi really did a lot.
Grandma: They were good grandkids. They helped out like true grandkids. We talked about a variety of interesting things.
Grandpa: After all, since it was an environment that was very family-like, we're really grateful.
N: With this, the two depart for Canada. I wonder if they were able to make wonderful memories on their last day in Japan?
Aiba: It was a first, having foreigners.
Jun: That's right, it's a first.
Aiba: Those two had an incredibly speedy wedding. To meet and then get married.
Sho: How many months did it take them?
Ohno: Four months.
Sho: Four months?! Can you marry someone after four months from meeting them?
Ohno: Maybe they're not human, we don't know.
[[writing: Hey!!]]
Sho: That's interesting, huh? Aren't there a lot of foreigner couples here?
Aiba: There are, actually I researched it, in Japan the largest number of couples are from Korea. Second is Brazil.
Sho: Brazil?!
Aiba: That's right. For the #3, what country do you think they're from?
Sho: Clearly, it's Switzerland, right?
Aiba: Switzerland?
Jun: Isn't it Lithuana?
Aiba: Not Lithuana.
Ohno: From the Vatican!
Sho: Have you ever met anyone from there?!
Aiba: It's close to Japan.
Ohno: Canada.
Sho: It's close to Japan?
Jun: China?
Aiba: Correct!
Sho: Oi, what kind of hint is that?!
Aiba: 34,229 couples. So with this, it's the end.
Sho: Isn't there the "Please watch again next week"?
Aiba: Then, you do it.
Sho: Why me? I don't have anything interesting.
Aiba: It's fine, it doesn't have to be interesting.
Ohno: Please watch. Ah, was that wrong?
[[writing: You did it...]]
Note to the people @ vox--feel free to add me to your neighborhood (I'll add you back if you'd like), but fyi, I play on eljay far more than here, so please don't take it amiss if I take forever to respond to comments.
えと... sorry for the double post today and I'm really not trying to step
on anyone's toes by doing this (which I really shouldn't have been,
EXAM ON FRIDAY TAYURI!!!), but sableheart was such a sweetheart for
uploading more vids for me, which I converted into ipod format again
for those who enjoy watching performances and I said she could ask for
anything in return (half my liver, my right kidney, etc.) but this is
what she asked for so here you go: (^^;;; I DO realize that is a
horribly long run-on sentence, but English wasn't my 1st language or so I claim.)
[TIME con] 'Thank yous' by Arashi - Be With You
Video dlable here (please thank sableheart!!!)
1) Please thank sableheart for the video ripping/encoding/uploading b/c she's awesome like that. And if you're nice to her and she's free, she might sub it despite *points to #2*
2) Um... not perfect translations as always, but I try. :P
3) Enjoy!
Sho: Eh, everyone, really, really, really thank you very much for this time. In this large "Tokyo Dome", to the very top, guests have come to support us. When I see that, I remember that when we debuted, the first two, three years, clearly there weren't that many guests. Seeing those empty seats was frustrating, so frustrating. But now, this many guests have gathered... when I see this, I'm happy, so happy I can't describe it. Everyone, thank you very much. But it's not only the large stadium, everyone's overwhelming feelings, that love, to us that is the biggest thing. I think it's wonderful to be able to perform here, to be gathered here with everyone, really it's wonderful, but to your support, each and everyone, one by one, to us that is the happiest feeling. It took us 8 years to get here, to stand here after 8 years, is something we're proud of. Our 8 years was hard, but it's something engrained in our hearts. Everyone, coming here today, everyone, thank you very much. It was fun, thanks!
Ohno: Eh, thank you very much. Eh... it's an amazingly good atmosphere, I think. I mean, this kind of atmosphere, really here at Dome, being able to experience it together with everyone for these 3 hours, together with us here. More and more, together with us, let's create a treasury of life times together. Really, thank you very much for today. It was the best! Thank you for this summer's festivities!
Aiba: Everyone, thank you very much for today. Really, this summer has lasted this long due to everyone, really thank you very much. As always, thank you very much.
Nino: Everyone, really thank you very much for today. Aiba-kun cried, didn't he? But really that's the kind of group 'Arashi' is. We may be bad at singing, we may also be bad at dancing, our conversations may be boring, who knows? But everything, everthing we do is heartfelt. Is everyone having fun, are they enjoying themselves, we always think of everyone when we do these concerts. I'm not crying! I'm not crying! Wait a minute, it's close, but I'm ok. I'm trying my best, k? In any case, thank you to the staff for this long summer and MAD and our juniors, HSJ, thank you very much. And, on top, the guests who have come today and those who have support as all summer, to those fans, thank you very much. It's a bit sad, but today Arashi's summer ends, but today's ending means a new summer will come. It may not even be a summer season when we can meet everyone again. For that, we will try our best, you guys work hard too! To me, no, to Arashi, this concert was the best, the most fun thing we've done yet as Arashi, that's what I believe. As such, as Arashi continues on our worries will disappear with everyone's smile, thank you very much for today.
Jun: Eh, [TIME - the power of words], how was it, I wonder? From tomorrow on, if everyone's lives have been influenced by the message we've hinted at, it will be a happy thing. From this tour's start, I've been thinking about my own words and their power. My first impression was our dream. Our group, Arashi, in 8 years, we've done a lot, been allowed to do a lot. It's come true or very close, I think. Years ago, We said we wanted to perform internationally in Asia and last year that came true. We wanted to perform in Dome and this year in April, we were able to. And after that, because of everyone's support, we are able to stand here again. Lots of dreams have come true in that time, but of course, this doesn't mean it's the end. Again and again, we will have new dreams to pursue and that's what we'll live for. We use what we've learned in the past 8 years and face forward. But really, it's not just Dome, in those 8 years, it wasn't due to the five of us alone, it was everyone who is here with us. Everyone here for helping us accomplish our dreams, thank you. From now on, again, for the dreams we've drawn out and want to strive for, from now on, for those dreams, come with us. With that, with everyone, a larger, more magnificent dream can be drawn. Lastly, it's not just the people here, we're here too. The five of us in Arashi are here. And with such friendships, let's meet again with a smile. Thank you very much. With that, from the five of us, this song, please listen, "Be With You."

MC: It's Junior Sound Story, this time featuring Ohno-kun!
Everyone: Yay! (... why is there only one uchiwa for Ohno?!)
MC: What kind of role is it?
Ohno: I'm a stalker.
Everyone: EH?!
MC: Did you just say stalker?
Other guy: You're a stalker?
Ohno: I am.
VTR: Junior Sound Story
Ohno: Everyday, you come without fail. I can only watch you from afar. Why is it that you look so happy even by yourself? That day, something happened. On that time, even though your boyfriend was with you, I knew you weren't happy.
Dude: Shut it already!
Girl: Don't be so selfish!
Dude: We're dating, so deal with it! I won't be seeing you anymore!
Ohno: Ah, here.
Girl: I don't need it anymore.
Ohno: But, you should treasure your memories.
Girl: What?
Ohno: But you were happy.
Girl: It's over already. Satoshi-kun, you're gentle, huh?
Ohno: That's not really true.
Girl: Maybe I'll be happy meeting you.
Ohno: What?
MC: That's so cool of you!
Takki: Cool, right!
MC: I didn't think you could make that face, Ohno-kun.
Guy in dark jacket: But this kind of change is a bit gross, right?
Someone: I'm jealous.
Guy: Since it's a trendy drama on Fuji TV, it got dragged out to ten weeks!

Old (taken from here but edited):
O: We did five shows a day.
T: Five in one day?
O: Five. It started from 10 o'clock in the morning...
T: 10 o'clock?!
O: There were many guests who came.
T: *laughs* Even with the music, no guests came?
O: Even at 10, we'd do it with gusto, but it would be empty. In an assembly hall for 1000 people... 'Ah, there's 50 people today.'
T: *laughs* Oh! Even so, you did five shows a day?
O: That's right. I thought, 'Why are we doing five shows a day?' But I couldn't say anything and just hung in there.
O: Yeah, as expected, I cried.
T: You cried?
O: I cried twice during the first year since I became homesick. In my role, I had a part where I was flying, attached from the back, that's how I moved onto the stage.
T: To go up?
O: I was wearing a wig at the time. In the middle of that, I thought, "What the hell am I doing?"
T: *laughs* I see!
O: Having to do that.
T: Even at that time, you were just hanging, feeling like you didn't want to do this.
O: A tear came out and I left the stage like that, while thinking, 'This is bad. I cried.'
T: That's incredible, na...
New:
T: There were fans that came to watch many times, right?
O: That's right, now that I think about it, I'm really thankful.
T: That's something to be thankful for! Right?
O: Even if it was just fifty, they supported us and wished us luck.
T: I wonder if the guests noticed, what's up with these fifty? Wouldn't they think more people should come?
O: When the guests came in, during the last fifteen minutes, there was Showtime. At that time, it was ok to wave your uchiwa and/or penlight. From that you could tell.
T: The people?
O: Yeah, there were the fifty and then everything else was pitch black.
T: The seats?
O: Yeah, like there's really no one, huh? *laugh*
VRR:
LSS performance
Quick question: Does everyone have Tenseikunpu yet? It's fantastic... I've watched it like six times (Yes, I only just got it on Wednesday evening and it's Saturday morning as I write this >.> WHAT.). Anyway,
I only ask b/c well... would a detailed summary (trans too long) of the
butai help anyone? I'll even add caps where I can (although
is there any way to get VLC to snap at the exact moment you want? I
keep getting a delay of a few seconds so I miss out on the perfect
moments BOO). ;P
Take care!

Ohno--Junior Sound Story II--I Love You
XDDD It's iwantopinchthosecheeks!ohno!
Raw videos can be found here and here
Comments are ♥♥♥ (It might encourage me to work on the Valentine's Day one instead of my presentation next week. ;D)
MC: It's time for that corner, Junior Sound Story (w/everyone) TWO! Speaking of that...
Takki: Right, this time the lead is Ohno-kun! With Akiyama-kun as the supporting role.
Akiyama: Hello, hello.
MC: Today's theme is...!
Ohno: May's illness. (May refering to the month)
VTR:
Ohno (voice-over): It's been a week since she hasn't come to school. Did something happen?
Mother: She's locked herself up in her room and hasn't talked to anyone.
Ohno: I see. Ah, here, today's notes and hand-outs. Please give them to Maya-chan.
Mother: Thank you as always. It would be great if Maya would cheer up with this, right?
Ohno (voice-over): Clearly, she's not coming back to school.
Akiyama: Satoshi!
Ohno: Un?
Akiyama: Want to go somewhere?
Ohno: I have to get this to Maya-chan.
Akiyama: Maya-chan? Ah, she hasn't been coming to school lately, huh? Until she was rejected, she never missed a day of school.
Ohno: Rejected?
Akiyama: You know, there's that roller skating dude, Uchume. The guy she liked just left her, like tossing her out. Well, it's not a nice thing to talk about.
Mother: Ah, thank you as always, Ohno-kun. Wait a minute please. Maya-chan, Ohno-kun's here. Thank him for taking his time to come here so often.
Maya: Man, this is annoying. Thank you as always.
Ohno: Here you go, the usual stuff. Then, I'll wait for you at school tomorrow.
Ohno (letter): I heard about it, the thing with Uchume-kun. Even though I can't do anything for you, please remember this one thing. There's a guy who looks forward to seeing you at school.
Maya: Ohno-kun. Ohno-kun! I'll see you at school tomorrow. Good night!
Ohno: The next day, I was able to see her cheerful face again.
Akiyama: Ohno-kun was cool, huh?
Takki: Cool.
MC: The guy's unbelievable, huh? That Uchume guy...
Akiyama: He was, right? That roller skater.
MC: That was fairly shady, you failed!
Akiyama: I did?
MC: What kind of feeling did the director give you?
Akiyama: Clearly, well, um... a guy's... something about a love relationship. This time, I wanted to go to a party with everyone, a tea party!
MC: A tea party? Like, let's toast!
Akiyama: Yeah, let's celebrate! Drinking continuously and then from there go, right.
MC: That's good, yes. In real life, has that ever happened to you? A girl you liked took a break from school?
Ohno: Not even once. For me.
Everyone: Eh?
MC: There's no way, right?
Ohno: There was a girl I liked.
MC: A girl in your class?
Ohno: Yeah, but I just watched her.
Akiyama: Isn't that being a stalker? You're stalking her!
MC: Thank you very much. That was Junior Sound Story Two!
SUCH A CUTIE <333. XDDD I couldn't help but do this while watching
even though I have two presentations to prepare for this week.
Somehow, the busier I'm suppose to be, the more I want to ditch my responsibilities
translate. Anyway, I'm extremely proud of Oh-chan and everything he's
accomplished! Can't wait for my Freestyle to get here. That being
said, he looks tired in some shots during this video. =/

Note: The following will be subbed (with more complete transations didn't get a chance to edit yet gomennasai) by my bittermelon!buddy
techni_teddy when she is able to crawl out from the pile of notes/texts that has swamped her. SUBBED!!!
[[writing: A huge line at Omotesandou Hills!]]
Voice-over: A huge line of 1600 people at Omotesandou Hills! For Arashi's Ohno Satoshi-san's first solo exhibit, a lot of people will be surprisingly moved!
[[writing: Arashi's Ohno Satoshi's suprising talent at his first solo exhibit!]]
Voice-over: After this, Ohno-san steps into the studio and show us his talent!
Female host (F): Good morning. Yes.
Male host (M): Yes. Eh... let's introduce the artist. Eh... the artistic Ohno-san? Or is Arashi's Ohno-san better?
Ohno: Ah, it's fine to go with Arashi.
M: Arashi's.
F: How about 'artist'? (She says this as an English word.)
M: Artist Ohno-san. Congratulations on your first solo exhibit.
Ohno: Thank you very much.
F: Congratulations. We have prepared something.
M: Let's begin by watching this.
Ohno: Yes.
[[writing: Ohno Satoshi (27)]]
VTR:
Lady (writing): Professor Ohno, congratulations!
Sho: Congratulations.
Lady: Congratulations.
Lady (writing): Professor, at last it's your first exhibit.
Ohno (writing): Let's stop with the Professor. *laughs*
Voice-over: Since morning, a huge line awaits Ohno Satoshi's first exhibit at Ometesandou Hills on February 21st!
[[writing: 1600 fans]]
[[writing: First exhibit: FREESTYLE]]
Voice-over: In that lighted place, both fans and others will be exposed to a world of art!
Self-expressing figures of black men and, from somewhere nostalgic, a charming robot!
[[writing: From ten years ago, self-taught works
Presently over 200 pieces]]
Voice-over: Teaching himself since ten years ago, Ohno-san has continuously created his works, now numbering over 200 pieces. Moreover, with a camera he has photographed the various works all over the city.
[[writing: Photography by Ohno Satoshi]]
Voice-over: His unique talent in photography will also be displayed.
VTR:
Ohno: Since I enjoy it, I've done it constantly. Somehow, it became like this.
Reporter: Did you research how to make the figures yourself?
Ohno: That's right. At first, I wasn't able to do it at all. It was strange and frustrating... *laughs* Then, I slowly got the hang of it. I've reached the point of being able to do it as freely as I like.
Voice-over: What does Arashi's member Sakurai-san think of this talent?
Sho: He was constantly saying, "I'm working with clay, I'm working with clay." Somehow, it was more, how do I say it, I really thought it was clay. I didn't know that he was creating something this incredible.
[[writing: Huge object
Height 3m Length 6m]]
Voice-over: The next big thing is this huge object! On a 6 meter long canvas, in alphametical letters, 'Satoshi'!
[[writing: Satoshi]]
Voice-over: Actually, this January, Nihon TV was able to catch a glimpse into the making of this drawing.
[[writing: Secret arrival]]
Voice-over: To keep up his momentum while drawing, he starts off strongly with the 'mothership' of the sign! To have the colors come out well, the bottom layer is white, then green on top. After, to make it look worn-out, he carefully lays out the shading (shadowing). It takes six hours to reach this state!
Voice-over: ? He starts the sign! First , to have the colors come out prettily, he outlines in white. Then green goes on top. Afterwards, to make it look worn-out, he carefully lays out the shadows. It takes six hours to reach this state!
Ohno: Ah, I'm beat. My muscles definitely hurt! This does. *wiggles finger*
Voice-over: The stiffness of the fingers.
[[writing: Third day of work]]
Voice-over: On the third day, the main job is the symbol of the entire piece. Actually, the form of the person is a cut-out of a real photo of Ohno-san. And then, the removal of the cut-out.
Voices: Ooh!!
Ohno: Wa~!! Awesome!!
Voiceover: The theme of his creation is freedom. In other words, you can do anything.
[[writing: Freedom]]
Sho: You're not suppose to eat it!
Jun: Isn't that your responsibility!! Why did you go off and eat it yourself!
Nino: How was it?
Voice-over: While being Leader, he is constantly teased.
Ohno: Delicious!
Voice-over: When it comes to dance, however, he produces his own choreography at Arashi's lives!
[[writing: At lives, he also produces the choreography]]
Voice-over: Four years ago on 24H TV, something life-changing occurred to him.
[[writing: Teaches dance to the students of Rogakkou]]
Ohno (writing): Then everyone, let's do our best!
Kids (writing): Let's do our best!!
Voice-over: To the deaf students of Rougakkou, in order to fulfill their dreams, he teaches them to dance for two months.
Ohno: That's right, that's right.
[[writing: A secret to the staff, he bought a sign language book and studied]]
Voice-over: Unknown to the staff, he studied sign language as well! And then, the Budokan Spring Play. The dance was a huge success!
MC1: Ohno-kun, isn't that great?
MC2: That's good, isn't it?
Voice-over: He is always showing a vacant expression, but underneath is a passionate person! For Ohno-san, an episode that makes numerous appearance is his mother.
[[writing: Mom's episode]]
Voice-over: When asked, 'If an earthquake occurred, what would you take before running?' He answered, 'Mommy' showing a deep love for her.
[[writing: If an earthquake occurred, what would you take before running?]]
[[writing: Mommy]]
Voice-over: Such a deep love might have been the root of his artwork.
[[writing: What is 'art'?]]
Voice-over: To Ohno-san, what is 'art'?
Ohno: #1, it's my own time, I guess. Without that, I think I'd die. When it gets really busy, I really want to do my own hobbies. Since I can do that, it's like 'All right, let's try my best at work tomorrow.'
M: That's something. Even with Arashi's debut, it was life-changing more when you were 23, that sort of fulfillment.
Ohno: That's right. Well, at first I really didn't have a reason for wanting to become Arashi.
M: The most unleader-like Leader, right?
Ohno: It's like that even now. *laughs*
M: With what kind of confidence are you drawing?
Ohno: Well, I really don't get it either. With the various jobs I get to do... it's not really confidence. At the beginning I would be really worried, but somehow it's gradually gone away. It has become a natural.
M: Natural?
Ohno: This feeling.
M: This feeling?
Ohno: That's how it is.
M: Not something fixed, just naturally.
Ohno: Just naturally.
M: That's truly incredible. And with that, he was able to produce such works.
F: That's true, right?
M: That's right. It's superb work, I must say. What planning did you do for these?
Ohno: The figures?
M: Yes.
Ohno: I'd always done drawings as a hobby, but for the figures, I wanted to make something more real. Something with more form, so I started playing with clay. At first I couldn't make anything, so I continued doing it until I could. Once I could, I thought, 'Let's try making 100 of these.' I just decided that on my own. As I was making them, at times I would think, 'Ah, I wish the fans could see this.'
M: So that's why you had an exhibit. There are so many people, it seems quite tough to get into the exhibit.
F: There was a huge line!
M: A huge line!
Ohno: Even though they came, there were guests who couldn't get in. I'm truly sorry. *bows head* But from tomorrow, for those people who came to see, there will be another chance. It's been decided that on the Johnny's cell phone site, Johnny's web, you will be able to see various things.
M: Such as these black figures? Here you go. Speaking of these figures, it's not the whole body.
Ohno: Right, right.
M: When it comes to Ohno-kun, that's not the case, right?
Ohno: For me, it's just the face.
M: Is there a meaning to this?
Ohno: No, well, I would make the face, and with just that, it seemed to come alive. So it was like the body's not worth it.
M: Like you can see from just the face?
Ohno: That's right, I was satisfied with just the face. With that, it's good enough.
M: Meaning you would like someone to be able to understand by just looking at the face?
Ohno: That was the feeling I was going with while making them.
F: Did you attach names to them?
Ohno: I didn't name them. Not even one.
M: This is it. The figures he had created himself and the pictures he took of them. The photos are meant to be Ohno-kun's art as well right?
Ohno: That's right, I did the photography.
M: Looking at it, how do you say, you took it from various angles too right?
Ohno: Yes.
M: Taking it like that, didn't that feel strange?
Ohno: It was, but it seemed in only the really hard places where I could take good ones.
M: That's life.
Ohno: That's life.
M: Please wait for the commercial.
[[writing: Next, Ohno Satoshi's World of Art]]
M: I'd like you to return to being Arashi's leader for a bit.
Ohno: Yes.
M: The new CD single is on sale right?
Ohno: Yes, it is. It's already out.
M: Ah, it's out, excuse me.
Ohno: Step and Go.
M: Ah, that's right. You're also doing a play?
Ohno: That's right. From March 21st in Aoyama. It's part of the Puu series, something I've always done. This time it's the fourth round.
M: For plays, do you change, Ohno-kun?
M: That's right, I change basically.
Host: It's sort of a strange feeling.
Ohno: Is that so? It's true, when it comes to stageplays, I have some confidence, so some things change.
M: What do you think of these? Of his exhibit?
Lady: Well, for Japanese artists, there's Nakamita-san whose artwork in in New York and is also very popular in Europe. I think it would be wonderful to have an exhibition in New York and London. There wwould definitely be a big reaction!
Ohno: I don't have the confidence for that.
M: That's troubling, you should go for it!
Ohno: I would like to do it, around the world.
M: Decide! Will you do it?
Ohno: YES!
Everyone: Thank you very much.
